I made an animatic of my film. I did this by doing rough sketches and scanning them in to then put into Final Cut.. I then set each image to the same timing of the film...
Below is my final film.. I am pleased with it considering I haven't had hardly any time to edit it for the second time! I really enjoyed this project and have found an interest in this style of film making, I will definitely be making some of my own Crash.Bang.Wallop films now I have my camera and Final Cut!

Sound...
I had sound in my original film but I wanted to enhance some of it.. I found some websites and started to download some clips...
I used sites such as;
http://www.soundsnap.com/
http://soundbible.com/
http://www.soundjay.com/
http://www.pacdv.com/sounds/index.html
http://free-loops.com/
http://www.mediacollege.com/downloads/sound-effects/
http://www.flashkit.com/soundfx/
I downloaded and added sounds for the following bits of film:
- Bath tap water
- Water splashing
- Door slamming
- Human scratching
- Slurping
Problems...
BIG PROBLEM!
Over half term I tried to edit my film further and it wouldn't open, I couldn't understand what the problem was and after hours of playing around with it I decided to leave it and do my final edits on the Monday back (day before deadline) I thought the film would be fine on the original computer I used on my college computer. I got to college on the Monday and my film still wouldn't open...It turns out the file was corrupt..I had to start editing from scratch for deadline the next day!
I repeated the process, it was actually a lot quicker to edit as I could remember most of my edit and cut points...
I had to re do everything. Upload all the clips again (which show on the right) and start putting back into the correct order...
The timeline shows the order and length of the clips...
I used the Ripple tool to cut each clip down...
I zoomed in and out of timeline a lot, this made it easier and clearer to edit closely...
I finally got my film down to 15 seconds again. At last!
I wantead to play around with the light of each clip to level it out. I filmed from around 5pm to 11pm so the change in light was huge! I did this using colour correction in final cut...
As I was changing the colour it made the film look older and not as clear but I quite liked that effect so I stuck with it, I ended up changing every single clip, some more than others...

Editing...
When I imported all my clips from the Zi8 I had to compress them to Apple Pro Res 422 for Progressive material files, I did this using compressor. I had 50 separate clips to compress which took hours! Compressor kept crashing so I needed to break the clips up and do them in small batches. When they had all converted I created a separate folder and dragged all the pro res files into it, I then opened the folder in final cut so I now had all my clips in the editing software.
I then began going through my clips and putting them in order in the timeline. I had around 50 clips. The film came to 5 minutes in total so I had a lot of editing to do to get it down to 15 seconds! I started looking at clips in more detail and getting rid of some that didn't look to great altogether.
I got the film down to around 2 minutes and this is where the harsh editing started, I had to scan each clip in detail and study movement. I edited a lot down by counting steps and hand movement etc, for example if Lolly ran 4 steps, I would cut it down to two... I did similar editing all the way through until I got it down to 15 seconds.

Filming...
On the day of filming I decided to film as much as possible so I had lots to play around with in Final Cut. I filmed my friend Lolly on her journey to London for a gig. I know I want to have these particular steps....
- Blackboard with writing of event details
- Bath filling up with water
- Lollys feet splashing around in bath
- Front door slamming
- Lolly leaves house
- Lolly runs down street
- Lolly queues at train station
- Lolly waits in train station
- Lolly goes through barriers
- Lolly walks down platform
- Lolly gets on train
- Lolly scratches face
- Lolly goes through barrier
- Lolly goes down escalator
- Close up of Lollys eyes
- Lolly waiting for tube
- Tube door slams
- Lolly on tube
- Lolly goes up escalator
- Lolly slurps drink in bar
- Lolly slams drink on bar
- Venue and She and Him sign
- Lolly leaves venue
- Lolly smokes
- Lolly closes eyes

More research...
When I was looking at films such as Run Lola Run and Requiem for a dream I came across lots of peoples own versions of hip hop editing, some are very similar to the brief...

Hip Hop Editing...
Darren Aronofsky is a director that uses 'hip hop montage' (Basically the brief for our films!) He made films such as Requiem for a dream and Pi, below are some clips of his films and the way he works...
Hip hop editing scene from Pi (Bedding disabled)
The Party scene from Requiem for a dream (Bedding disabled)
Also Baz Lhurmann uses fast editing in Moulin Rouge...
Run Lola Run has very fast editing...

ATP...
I borrowed a Kodak Zi8 from uni and absolutely loved it so I went out and bought one for myself! I went to a festival and filmed a lot so I decided to have some practice at editing/filming and make a film, it's not like the Crash Bang Wallop brief as I wanted to make it for friends to see etc but I got a lot of practice...

Film ideas...
I'm starting to think about different ideas for my film...
- Festival
- Getting ready - shower, teeth, make up etc
- Dancing - a club?
- A BBQ
- Cooking - 50s housewife style
- Washing up/cleaning
- Shopping - Food shopping in trolley
- A gig
- Playground - swings/slides etc
